Q4 2023 Performance of Top Consumer Finance Apps on Android in the US

In the final quarter of 2023, the consumer finance category on the Android platform saw varied performance among the top applications in the United States. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a closer look at the trends in downloads and weekly active users for these leading apps.

Cash App maintained a strong presence with downloads peaking at roughly 240K in mid-October before settling at about 180K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users saw a high point of 8.8M in late October, followed by a gradual decrease to 7.5M towards the end of the year.

Venmo showed consistent download numbers, hovering around 90K to 94K in the early weeks of Q4, but experienced a dip to approximately 79K by the holiday season. The app's active users reached a peak of 6.5M in late October and late November, with a noticeable drop to 5.5M by the year's end.

Zelle experienced a steady download rate, with a slight increase to around 84K in late November. Weekly active users for Zelle showed a slight upward trend, peaking at over 380K in the same period, but ended the quarter with a modest rise to around 350K.

Google Wallet downloads fluctuated between 69K and 75K throughout the quarter, with a year-end surge to about 67K. The app's weekly active users showcased significant growth, from approximately 292K in late September to a high of 472K in late October, before stabilizing at 430K by the close of December.

Capital One Mobile, while showing less volatility in downloads, ranged from nearly 63K to around 73K, ending the quarter with an uptick to 68K. The app's active user base exhibited a high of 5M in late October and late November, concluding Q4 with nearly 4.7M active users.
